Payment + Returns
Ten days after the actual rental period is allowed for return of rented weapons. Overdue charges will be applied after the ten day period unless you contact me to make arrangements.
Many rentals are last-minute, desperate orders, often placed by customers new to No Quarter Arms. We will always make every effort to accommodate the customer's schedule, but due to the irresponsibility of a few, WE NOW REQUIRE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT (MasterCard, Visa, American Express) in advance for all new customers and customers placing very large rental orders. Any other arrangement must be made in advance of rental shipment. We require on all orders the name and phone number of the particular individual who is responsible for returning the weapons ordered.
RENTAL POLICY
PLEASE READ CAREFULLYOur first concern is that you receive the weapons you need for a particular show. That's why it's so important to discuss the order person-to-person. We are very familiar with the weapons problems of most shows requiring arms, and to that end we have some show-specific pieces such as "Juliet" daggers or Carmen navajas.
We want you to have the pieces in time and will work with you to insure that actors have the weapons as soon as possible after the order is placed. If a piece won't work, for any reason, return it and we'll try something else. You only pay shipping. If a piece fails for any reason, we'll replace it if at all possible. Blades break; we allow for that. We expect normal nicks and burrs, and maybe some rust. Unless a weapon is just completely destroyed, we don't make any extra charge. Lost or destroyed weapons are charged as if new.
All weapons rented are sound for stage combat. Normal wear is expected to occur, but no major maintenance should be necessary other than blade edge deburring. If a weapon breaks in the blade or hilt, a replacement will be sent immediately at only the cost of shipping.
NO MAJOR REPAIR BY THE CUSTOMER TO RENTED WEAPONS, SUCH AS WELDING, IS PERMITTED WITHOUT SPECIFIC PERMISSION. WEAPONS LOST OR STOLEN, OR RENDERED UNSERVICEABLE OR UNUSABLE, WILL BE CHARGED TO THE RENTER AS IF PURCHASED NEW.
DISCLAIMER
PLEASE READ CAREFULLYNo Quarter Arms LLC and Dennis L. Graves hereby disclaim all responsibility for any injury, accidental or intentional, resulting from the use or misuse of weapons manufactured or distributed by him. Responsibility for safe usage lies solely with the handler of said weapon.
Please be warned! THERE ARE NO UNBREAKABLE SWORDS!!! All blades, especially thin 'fencing' blades, will eventually break, even when used very carefully. A new, totally sound blade can break in one strike if hit just right. There is always a risk that a blade can snap through the section or in the tang and endanger people. This risk is minimized through proper maintenance and careful fight direction and, in the case of historic fencing, by adequate body protection. The renter or purchaser or handler assumes all responsibility for safe use of any weapon and agrees to assume this responsibility by virtue of renting, purchasing, or handling the weapon(s).
IN THE AGE OF FIREARMS, SWORDS STILL WORK!!!
A new, sharp sword is as lethal as any of its historic counterparts. Treat any sword like a loaded firearm. Even a casual brush of a hand or arm against a sharp or even badly burred or nicked blade will cause a deep, long painful, bleeding wound!!!Blades are subject to considerable variance in hardness, elasticity, grain structure, etc. A blade is a metal spring, and like all springs, will eventually fatigue. Blades are meant to be replaced when they show signs of fatigue. Use of worn blades invites an accident. It is not a matter of if your blade will break it is a matter of when. While swords are an investment, it should be expected that over the years blades will be used up and replaced like tires or light bulbs. If a blade even seems unsafe, discard it. The cost of a new blade is always less than repairing the damage from an accident.
Free replacement if weapons fail in normal use— customers pay only shipping on replacement, not an extra rental charge
All weapons guaranteed serviceable and as safe as possible upon shipment.
Normal wear (nicks, burrs, bends, and rust) is expected. Weapons that are seriously damaged or rendered unusable will be charged at full cost.
Ten days allowed after rental period ends to return weapons before late charges accrue.
